The opportunityAn exciting opportunity to work in EY’s Global Grants, Credits and Incentives team in the North.We are looking for a Manager and Senior Manager with experience with UK Incentive Schemes to support with building our team and driving growth in the London market.
EY’s Global Grants, Credits and Incentives team is a specialist team made up of scientist and engineers as well as tax and accounting professionals. Serving a variety of clients from owner managed businesses to multinational groups, we support companies in claiming government Incentives that seek to encourage UK companies to invest in innovation.
The successful candidate will get the opportunity to work as part of the wider Business Tax Services group at EY, in a diverse team of highly successful tax and industry specialists.
You will be required to lead RandD tax engagements with clients and work closely with lead engineers and the finance and tax departments of our clients across different sectors. You will be responsible for the high quality delivery of our claims and play an active role in delivery of the RandD reports for submission to HMRC and taking part in extensive client communication.

As well as working directly on existing projects, you will also be encouraged to support business development opportunities.Your key responsibilities:Manage the successful delivery of RandD tax services to the clientReview technical project reports to bring out the key technical factors of client projects to support RandD tax claimsSupport the development of junior engineers in the teamBuild and maintain relationships with clients and provide high levels of client serviceBuild relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and managing expectationsContribute to winning new work by proactively managing existing clients and contribute to winning new clients.Skills and attributes for success:Experienced RandD tax practitionerProven ability to read and interpret existing and new tax statuteTeam player; ability to integrate with new teams quicklyOutgoing with good relationship skills and the ability to deliver quality outputStrong technical skills and keen to develop furtherAbility to build strong client relationshipsAbility to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwardsRelationship management skills with ability to manage client expectationsAbility to build effective relationships at all levelsAbility to solve problems creatively and pragmaticallyTo qualify for the role you must have:Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to managementThe flexibility to constantly learn and adapt in a fast-paced environmentIdeally, you’ll also have:Project management skills, plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines, monitor own budgetWork experience in your chosen industry as an engineer or scientistWhat we look for:Team player; ability to integrate with new teams quicklyOutgoing with good relationship skills and the ability to deliver quality outputWhat working at EY offersWe offer a competitive remuneration package where you’ll be rewarded for your individual and team performance.
