Salary: andpound;90 andndash; andpound;120 per day (depending on experience)
About the Role:
A nurturing and inclusive school in Winslow is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping children overcome challenges related to literacy, numeracy, communication, and social understanding. Pupils may also have difficulties with memory, organisation, and concentration, often requiring additional support and encouragement to reach their full potential.
The school takes pride in creating a safe, respectful, and enabling environment where every child is supported to succeed. The successful applicant will work in collaboration with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs, providing both 1:1 and small group support.
Key Responsibilities:
andbull; Support pupils in understanding and carrying out classroom tasks
andbull; Adapt activities to meet studentsandrsquo; individual learning needs
andbull; Help pupils with sequencing, memory retention, and organisation
andbull; Promote self-confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
andbull; Work closely with teaching staff to implement EHCPs and IEPs
andbull; Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback
andbull; Support with personal care or physical support if needed (training provided)
Requirements:
andbull; Experience supporting pupils with MLD, SEN, or additional needs
andbull; A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to behaviour and learning
andbull; Good understanding of SEN strategies, especially for MLD learners
andbull; Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable)
andbull; Moving and Handling training (or willingness to undertake training)
andbull; Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
