About the Role
As a Senior Social Worker, you will:
- Hold and manage a complex caseload involving children in need, child protection, and care proceedings
- Deliver high-quality assessments, interventions, and outcome-focused plans
- Undertake direct work with children, young people, and families to reduce risk and improve outcomes
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children
- Provide mentoring, consultation, and guidance to less experienced colleagues
- Support reflective practice and practice development across the team
- Produce high-quality case recordings, assessments, and court reports
- Attend and contribute to professional meetings including core groups and multi-agency meetings

- Workers are expected to attend the office 3 days per week
- All children must be seen face to face
- Laptop and smartphone provided to support agile working
What We''re Looking ForEssential Qualifications
- MA/MSc/BA/BSc in Social Work or equivalent HCPC-approved qualification (DipSW, CQSW, CSS)
- Registered Social Worker
- Enhanced DBS clearance
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Significant post-qualifying experience within statutory children''s services
- Experience working with children and families with highly complex needs
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, care proceedings, and child protection processes
- Experience of multi-agency working and partnership collaboration
- Ability to mentor and support less experienced staff or students
You will demonstrate:
- Strong assessment and intervention skills
- Excellent understanding of attachment, resilience, risk, and child development
- Ability to apply legislation, policy, and case law effectively
- Skilled communication in high-risk and challenging situations
- Strong analytical, reflective, and report-writing abilities
