Andy has built and led data teams across global enterprises and high growth scale-ups, launched AI products end to end, and holds patents for novel machine learning applications in UK Capital Markets.The Opportunity
As a highly operational business, Relay relies on data to guide everything we do. We are a small but impactful data team working on everything from operations research to optimise thousands of parcel deliveries daily, to detailed business metrics that drive expansion and investment decisions.We’re currently hiring two Data Analysts, each focused on a high-impact part of the network: one will work on Last Mile Marketplace, and one will help optimise Quality and Attribution. These roles apply analytical skills directly to the design and performance of critical logistics infrastructure as we scale. You’ll work closely with squads across routing, sortation, first mile, middle mile, last mile, marketplace and our commercial functions, and collaborate with operations, product and engineering to identify problems, shape hypotheses, and deliver insight. You’ll be an embedded contributor within key cross-functional squads, with strong exposure to real-world operations and the opportunity to drive meaningful change through data.Responsibilities
Two Data Analyst roles focused on: Last Mile Marketplace and Quality and Attribution.
Identify problems, shape hypotheses, and deliver insight by collaborating with cross-functional squads (routing, sortation, first/middle/last mile, marketplace, commercial, operations, product and engineering).
Develop and maintain dashboards; track hiring velocity, latency, quality, and TA productivity where applicable to recruitment and operations analytics.
Analyse operational data to optimise parcel deliveries and network performance; build data tools to monitor key metrics and identify levers for improvement.
Projects and Focus Areas
Last Mile MarketplaceMatching and Route Discoverability: analyse how couriers discover and book routes; use simulations and experiments to improve route matching and booking efficiency.
Product Analytics: analyse courier interactions with Last Mile app across booking funnels; run experiments to evaluate visibility, functionality and interface changes; shape product decisions and drive courier experience improvements.
Quality and AttributionBuild data tools to understand missing deliveries and investigate fraud; identify responsible teams and collaborate with engineers to improve visibility.
Monitor AI model performance for proof of delivery compliance and suggest improvements.
Who Will Thrive in this Role?

Translate business problems into analytical questions and results into actionable recommendations.
Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and operators to build data tools and surface performance insights.
Contribute to scoped data projects from definition to delivery with support from an experienced team.
3+ years of experience as a data analyst or in a similar role.
Strong SQL skills and experience with BI/data visualization tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to derive insight from complex data.
Excellent communication skills to explain analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Commercial mindset with focus on impact, not just insight.
