Graduate to Senior Consultant

Overview
Robust and evidence-based work at the intersection of regeneration and development, addressing town centres, housing renewal, brownfield land redevelopment, major infrastructure delivery and the future of workspace. Support delivery of projects for public and private sector clients with commercial and market awareness, solving problems and delivering results. The role involves providing analysis, strategy and outputs in high-quality written reports and presentations, as well as stakeholder and public engagement.Responsibilities
Masterplans for the regeneration of town centres, housing estates, industrial areas and other growth locations with a focus on establishing realistic and deliverable propositions and approachesBusiness cases to unlock funding and public sector decision making for major development, infrastructure and policy-based projects - including all five business cases in line with HM Treasury requirementsAnalysis of the likely property, regeneration and economic impacts of major infrastructure programmes and associated monitoring frameworksAssess the economic impact of developments and other investments, including social impact considerationsAdvice on future workspace needs, affordability and skills issuesEvidence base reports to support planning policy, strategic land promotion and planning applications, principally focused on employment land, employment workspace and town centresPreparation of socio-economic chapters of ES/EIA reportsPlace-based regeneration and economic strategies for sites, cities and regionsQualifications and Skills
Degree (or equivalent) in economics, public policy, regeneration or geographyExcel literacy and proficiency with Excel tools (functions, charts, data tools, etc.)Ability to work with large datasets, bring them together to derive meaningful findings and present them clearlyNumerical, accurate and have excellent attention to detail with numbersAbility to prepare high quality written outputUnderstanding of the planning system (local, regional, national) and different stakeholders involved in the regeneration/economic development processDesirable
Familiarity with major public datasets (ONS, NOMIS), public real estate data (Zoopla, Land Registry, etc.) and ideally with specialised data (CoStar, EGi, etc.)Knowledge of socio-economic appraisal/assessment methods (Green Book) and evaluation methods (Magenta Book)Experience of quality audit in Excel modelsSome knowledge of VBAExperience using GISGood understanding of the property market and relationship between property market and infrastructureRole Details
