Technical Sales Manager

Shropshire (Home Based Role, 1-2 days in the office every two weeks)

£60,000 – 65,000 + Company Car or Car Allowance + 10% Annual Bonus

The Company

This is an opportunity to join a highly successful and growing UK manufacturer which is growing 10% year on year.   The business designs and develops it’s own bespoke products which are used within process lines in manufacturing.   The company also fabricates and manufactures the products themselves.

The UK business employs 150, turns over in excess of £30 million a year and part of wider group that employs over 600 staff. 

The business has grown historically through a combination of organic and acquisitional growth and now have an extensive product range that gives them a strong brand in the market and competitive advantages over their competition.

The business is looking to recruit a Technical Sales Manager who will take the lead on handling and managing all enquiries coming through from their key customers.   You will be dealing primarily with OEMs and Re-Sellers who have a requirement for the bespoke product and systems our clients manufacture.

The Role

The role of Technical Sales Manager is responsible for handling incoming enquiries from key customers who are looking to purchase one or several of the companies products.   You will receive a technical specification from an OEM or Re-seller which details the application and performance required for the product.    

You will then allocate the enquiry to one of the estimators in your team who will produce a quotation for you to present and close with the customer.

You will be responsible for:

• Annual revenue target circa 1.5 million
• The management of the estimators in the team and the allocation of workload
• Carrying out customer visits with key accounts
• Updating customers with progress on product manufacturing
• Managing and reacting to any changes to enquiries as they are being handled
• You will be working across circa 20-25 key OEMs and Re-sellers the company works with
• Average enquiries can range from 10K to 150K dependant on the number of products required.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for this Technical Sales Manager role you will need:

• To be able to work in a fast paced environment
• To be able to close orders
• To be a strong relationship builder who can build effective partnerships
• A background in technical sales with either capital equipment, pneumatic systems, filtration, material handling systems or conveying
• Any further understand of ATEX regulations is beneficial
