SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rugby, CV21
Pay Rate: -(Apply online only) per week
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm
Contract: Monday - Friday, long-term temp to perm.
Long Term Futures are recruiting for a resilient and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and nurturing school in Rugby, Coventry. This role will involve providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils across Key Stage 2 with complex Autism (ASD) and SEMH needs.
This position will involve working mostly outside of the classroom, supporting pupils who require a more personalised and structured approach to learning and emotional regulation.

About the Role:

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with complex ASD and SEMH needs
• Work primarily outside the classroom in a tailored learning environment
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement
• Deliver structured activities and interventions suited to individual needs
• Help pupils access learning in a calm, safe and supportive setting
• Build strong, consistent relationships to promote trust and progress
• Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to adapt strategies

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience)
• Strong experience supporting pupils with ASD and SEMH
• Confident working with challenging behaviour and complex needs
• Calm, patient and resilient approach
• Ability to work independently and use initiative
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Team Teach or behaviour training (desirable)
