Controls System Maintenance Engineer
Location: Leamington Spa
Hours: 39 hours per week on rotating shifts
Week 1 – Monday – Thursday 6.00am-2.00pm, Friday 6.00am-1.00pm
Week 2 – Monday – Thursday 2.00pm – 10.00pm, Friday 1.00pm – 8.00pm
Salary: Competitive + shift allowance + bonus

The role
As a Controls System Maintenance Engineer, you’ll take ownership of both planned and reactive maintenance across our production site, with a strong focus on PLCs, robotics and electrical control systems. From troubleshooting faults to supporting new installations, you’ll help maximise uptime, minimise disruption, and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on plant manufacturing equipment
- Program, test and debug PLC control systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on electrical, mechanical and robotic systems
- Maintain and improve plant equipment, including compressors, boilers, fire systems, lighting and building infrastructure
- Ensure maintenance areas and kept clean, safe and organised
- Support the installation and commissioning new equipment
- Champion health & safety best practices
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
- Time-served apprentice or equivalent in mechanical/electrical engineering
- Proven experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance (ideally within manufacturing)
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming and robotic systems
- Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Excellent communication skills
- Calm, organised and resilient under pressure
