Job DescriptionYou will provide up-to-date knowledge, expertise and experience of professional practice and have in-depth knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to at least one specialist subject area that contributes to the programmes we offer.

In this role, you will deliver high-quality learning opportunities and mentorship to students within a teaching and learning framework that considers both formal and informal development structures.

Critical to this approach, you will mentor students aligned with your practice and guide their educational and professional development.

You may be asked to lead specific modules or themes and contribute to fostering a research culture within the subject.

You will bring professional relationships and industry contacts that will support students in their studies and help shape their future entrepreneurship.

Organisation BackgroundJCA | London Fashion Academy is a modern initiative by renowned designer Prof. Dato’ Jimmy Choo OBE.

As an industry leader in fashion education, it adapts to the evolving UK higher education landscape, emphasizing innovative, high-quality education.

The Academy supports and launches designers through a couture-styled, learner-centered approach in a boutique incubation environment.

It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in broad-based subjects with high specialization, including immersive professional practice experiences and timetabled Maker Space activities.

The Academy aims to support gifted designers transitioning into entrepreneurship or employment, selecting students based on qualifications, portfolio, and interview performance.

JCACultureOur academic staff are leaders in their fields, both professionally and pedagogically. They are approachable and collaborative, fostering a professional learning community.

Lecturers, employed as Mentors, engage actively with learners, inspiring and challenging their thinking, and supporting excellence and motivation.

Main duties and responsibilitiesStudent Experience

Mentor students aligned with specific practice areas.

Guide students’ educational and professional development.

Foster a sense of community among students and staff.

Support operational teaching and mentorship activities.

Participate in open days, inductions, and student forums.

Learning, Teaching and Assessment

Design and deliver innovative, high-quality practical learning experiences.

Equip students with skills and attributes required for design entrepreneurship.
