Imaging Technology Lead

Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Global Head of Imaging and Digital, you will join our Imaging and Digital Group, within the RandD department of GE HealthCare’s Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) business segment, which develops and markets a broad portfolio of imaging diagnostic agents across different medical imaging modalities (including PET/SPECT, MRI, Ultrasound, and CT/X-ray) and therapeutic areas (including Oncology, Neuroscience, and Cardiology).
The core responsibility of PDx RandD is the efficient execution of clinical trials, at the heart of which are Imaging Technology Leads (typically PhD/MD/PGDip/MSc level) with subject matter expertise in imaging science and technology. In this role, you will be responsible for the rigorous implementation and interpretation of imaging methods in clinical trials of ultrasound contrast agents, and potentially MRI contrast agents and/or nuclear medicine radiotracers. You will provide scientific SME leadership as the imaging technology representative on clinical teams.
You will work closely with colleagues within the Imaging and Digital Group (including imaging operations, and in the development of novel analytical tools) and the broader RandD and PDx organisation. You will have expertise in ultrasound alongside other imaging modalities.

Job Description
Responsibilities
Provide subject-matter expertise in imaging within PDx RandD globally
Advise on imaging components of clinical protocols from the standpoints of technology, quality, and practicality
Translate protocol imaging endpoints to an imaging strategy and formalize this in study documents including imaging manual, quality manual, site training materials and image review charter
Advise imaging staff at participating clinical sites
Author and review imaging sections of trial-facing and regulatory documents
Collaborate with RandD Digital colleagues in the development of novel algorithms and software tools
Maintain an external scientific profile, including conference presentations, publications, and consortium participation, as appropriate
Influence portfolio / operational strategies, technical and scientific roadmaps, risks and recommendations with internal and external teams and advise senior leadership
Collaborate cross-functionally within PDx clinical study teams, with medical affairs and product leaders
Travel to international and domestic clinical study sites to assist with or perform initiation and training
Maintain and develop competence in imaging modalities aligned with the RandD portfolio
Manage clinical study image data for internal and external customers according to Good Clinical Practice, HIPPA and other applicable regulations
Build cross-business strategies and collaboration between Pharmaceutical Diagnostics and other GEHC business segments
Qualifications
MSc in Clinical Ultrasound (UK – or international equivalent) and/or PhD or MD in a relevant science discipline such as Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Radiology, etc.
Strong background in clinical ultrasound or similar field
Experience with clinical trials involving imaging endpoints, including scanner qualification and protocol set up across different scanner vendors, centralized image core lab activities
Awareness of imaging applied to clinical practice
Proven track record of working across multiple functions with diverse teams
Knowledge in the scientific and clinical research of diagnostic imaging agents
A high degree of initiative, ability to work systematically and independently
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork
Excellent oral and written command of English
Desirable skills
Experience with other imaging modalities and contrast media
Relevant professional qualifications and certifications (e.g., Board Certification, Member or Fellow in an appropriate professional body etc.).
Experience working in industry/healthcare
Experience with programming languages (e.g. MATLAB, C++, Python, IDL, etc.)
Knowledge of commercial medical workstation platforms and their capabilities
Attention to detail
Ability to multitask
Ability to persevere and work effectively during high-pressure situations
