Division: Surgery and AnaestheticsCare Group: Planned CareGrade: ConsultantApplications are invited for a full-time (10 PA) Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in Foot and Ankle surgery and diabetic feet. The successful candidate will be GMC registered and will play a vital role in a progressive, multi-disciplinary team.The role encompasses Orthopaedic Trauma surgery, with a specialist interest in foot and ankle surgery, trauma, and diabetic feet, in line with departmental needs. Assessment, care, and treatment of patients presenting to the orthopaedic service and Emergency Department.Developing surgical pathways, focusing on ambulatory care and trauma patient flow.Developing diabetic foot pathways and participating in MDT approaches to diabetic foot management.Leading quality improvement initiatives in orthopaedic and trauma surgery.Providing teaching and training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.Participating in audit and quality assurance processes.Adhering to clinical and corporate governance policies.The department operates in the Medway and Swale area; clinical/outpatient work will be required at MFT and Sittingbourne sites.We are committed to equality of opportunity and guarantee an interview to disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria.Medway Maritime Hospital is a smoke-free site.
