A leading UK manufacturer specialising in high-performance materials for the automotive sector is seeking a skilled and experienced Engineering Supervisor to join their growing team. About the Role:
We’re looking for a seasoned Furnace Engineer with a strong background in high-temperature furnace systems and a passion for leadership. With over a decade of hands-on experience, you’ll take charge of a dedicated team of technicians in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead, develop and inspire a technical team, drive operational efficiency, and take ownership of maintenance and continuous improvement within furnace operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate a team of furnace technicians to ensure reliable daily operations

Mentor and develop team members through coaching and knowledge sharing

Plan and oversee preventative maintenance for vacuum and non-vacuum furnace systems

Respond to breakdowns swiftly, ensuring minimal downtime

Be available for out-of-hours support when urgent issues arise

Champion continuous improvement initiatives for safety, reliability, and performance

Maintain a hands-on approach to technical problem-solving and equipment upkeep
Required Skills and Experience:
-
10+ years of experience working with high-temperature furnaces (vacuum and non-vacuum)

Strong technical understanding of furnace systems and maintenance best practices

Demonstrated experience in leading or mentoring in a technical environment

Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
-
A calm, proactive, and hands-on approach under pressure
Desirable Qualifications:

Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering

Background in industrial or manufacturing environments
-
Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
