Long Term Futures is managing a full-time Primary Teaching Assistant vacancy. This role involves working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to provide essential classroom support and help students meet their learning targets as they approach the end of the academic year.

The school is a community-focused primary setting situated in the vibrant borough of Newham. It is well known for its inclusive ethos and its dedicated staff who work together to deliver a creative, high-quality education for all pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the class teacher to facilitate daily lessons and learning tasks.
  • Specialising in core subject support by leading small group interventions in Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Assisting students with specific learning needs or those requiring additional pastoral care.
  • Organising educational resources to ensure a positive and structured classroom environment.
  • Maintaining a safe environment for students during playground and lunch intervals.


Essential Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience assisting children within a primary school or a related educational field.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and patient approach to supporting student progress.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with staff and pupils.
  • A solid working knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one).
