Head Chef

Head Chef, required for a Restaurant which also offers a function room, located in the outer Croydon area. As Head Chef, you will be offering a traditional British and European menu, a traditional Sunday roast / Sunday menu and also cater for functions including weddings in the function room. Candidates require a good all round back ground to include a busy restaurant service and experience of catering for up to 100+ within wedding and banqueting operations. As Head Chef, you will support a small team. You will have a passion for training and development of your team which are very important factors. Shifts: Week-ends are the busiest and you will be expected to work these days. Most likely days off will be a Monday and Tuesday. A sample of duties / responsibilities as Head Chef will include: To oversee, supervise, develop and train kitchen staff Ensuring the cleaning of and organisation of the food preparation areas Ensuring that the kitchen team prepare the dishes according to the specifications and standards set / agreed Creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes in liaison with the manager Monitoring portion and waste control to ensure GP is maintained to the agreed level You will be hands on To work closely with front of house staff and management to ensure a smooth level of service and standard Adhere and comply with government guidelines and statutory regulations in relation to health and safety, fire safety, food and hygiene safety management The salary ..... full job details .....
