Business Development Executive
Hemel Hempstead (Hybrid)
£35,000 per annum

SMT Recruitment is working with a growing business within the construction industry to recruit a Business Development Executive. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded individual to join a well established organisation where you will play a key role in driving business growth while managing the full sales process.

Working on a hybrid basis from their Hemel Hempstead office, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, building strong relationships with architects and customers, and working closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the full sales process from initial enquiry through to order completion.
• Develop new business opportunities and build long term client relationships.
• Liaise with architects, customers, and internal departments to support projects and sales activity.
• Prepare quotations and process customer orders accurately.
• Calculate costs and provide accurate pricing, requiring strong mathematical skills. 
• Deliver excellent customer service throughout the sales journey.
• Maintain CRM records and sales documentation.
• Support the team with general sales administration and reporting.

About You

• Previous experience in business development, internal sales, or account management.
• Experience within the construction industry is highly desirable.
• Confident building relationships with landscape architects, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong mathematical and numerical skills with the ability to work in both euros and pounds and calculate costs accurately.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to business development.
