We are currently recruiting for an Employment Lawyer to join a friendly and supportive legal team in a London Council. The initial contract is for 12 months, with a view to becoming a permanent role. This is a full-time role and will require office attendance twice per week.The successful Employment Lawyer will have knowledge of employment law and experience of working in a similar role so they can hit the ground running. Local government or public sector experience is desirable, but not essential.Duties include but are not limited to:Representing the Council before the Employment Tribunal (CMHs)Providing advice on matters such as restructuring, TUPEWorking closely with senior managers and stakeholders on a range of employment law disputesProviding employment law adviceHandling a caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters (dismissals, discrimination, etc)Settlement agreementsThis role would be suited to a Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister, who is confident dealing with a mixed Employment caseload.
