Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary school in Salford for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated and supportive team.

The school provides education and support for young people with complex additional needs, and is looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is committed to helping pupils achieve their potential.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide personalised support to pupils throughout the school day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex SEND.
• Supporting pupils to access the secondary curriculum and engage in learning.
• Helping young people develop their communication, social and independence skills.
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Building positive, trusting and respectful relationships with students.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Supporting pupils both within lessons and during social times.
• Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence.
• Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals to meet individual needs.
• Helping maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing school environment.

Previous experience working with SEND, autism, complex needs, challenging behaviour or within a specialist education setting would be highly desirable. However, candidates with relevant transferable experience are also encouraged to apply.
