Health and Safety Lead

Health And Safety Lead Manufacturing - Lancaster We are seeking a proactive Health and Safety professional to support the delivery of a robust safety strategy across a complex manufacturing environment. This role will support the Head of EHS and collaborate with teams across the business to ensure legal compliance, promote a positive safety culture, and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all relevant UK HandS legislation and ISO standards (ISO 45001, 14001). Support and implement group-wide health and safety initiatives and strategy. Lead specific safety programs and act as the subject matter expert for selected risk areas. Liaise with external regulators and agencies (HSE, insurers, emergency services). Assist with investigations, audits, inspections, and implementation of corrective actions. Monitor and analyse safety performance data to support continuous improvement. Provide guidance on occupational health, risk assessment, and safe systems of work. Requirements: NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent NVQ. Certified member of a recognised HandS body (e.g., IOSH). Proven experience in a lead health and safety role, ideally in manufacturing. Strong working knowledge of UK HandS law and standards. Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels. Experience with systems such as PUWER, LOLER, LOTO, DSEAR is advantageous. What s on Offer: Competitive salary with benefits.
