City of Wolverhampton Council is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Public Health team as an Apprentice Health and Care Intelligence Specialist. This role is ideal for someone with experience as a junior analyst who is ready to progress to a senior post.Overview
Health and Care Intelligence Specialist Apprentice — Level 7 (Master’s Degree Equivalent) Apprenticeship. Fixed-Term Contract – 36 Months. Salary: £39,152. Hours: 37 per week (including 6 hours off-the-job training).Responsibilities
Work with complex information systems and datasets to support population health intelligence across a wide range of public health topics.Help organisations understand and use their data effectively.Collaborate with partners across statutory, non-statutory, voluntary and private sectors to achieve shared health improvement priorities.Support strategic planning and performance improvement initiatives.Learning is delivered remotely, and you will bring that learning into the workplace, providing innovative solutions for analytical challenges. You will be supported with work-based tasks to help you develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for the apprenticeship.Qualifications / Requirements
You must be in a position to start the post by December 2025 at the latest due to apprenticeship provider deadlines.Non-UK Nationals: You must have resided in the UK for the last three years to be eligible.If you already have previous qualifications in a similar area, please contact the People Development and Experience Team to check eligibility.If you have achieved maths and English qualifications overseas, you must provide an ENIC certificate to be eligible for the role.Check the essential criteria for the role, particularly the mandatory English and mathematics grades; failure to state these grades may result in rejection.The successful candidate will have a relevant degree or equivalent experience in roles such as Band 6 data analyst positions.This post is funded through external funding based on OHID and NHSE Midlands criteria.
