About the Role
As the senior engineer in our Crypto Intelligence Engineering team, youll be working in the heart of Elliptic, building a platform for our intelligence organisation to efficiently and robustly collect intel on crypto crime.The mission of your new team is to scale the collection efforts of Elliptic. Streams of intelligence come from myriad sources: external feeds, internal automation, internal analysis, client submitted data. It all needs to be classified, stored, and reviewed, before it can be processed into our market leading proprietary graph database.You will work with two other engineers - and with our technical founder - to create tooling, optimise processes, and remove bottlenecks in these intel pipelines.Key Responsibilities
What you will doDesign and build software tools to improve and enhance our intelligence collection and analysis efforts. Examples of such tools range from compiled build-and-load programs up to browser extensions and web applications.Develop software to analyse and interpret cryptocurrency usage behaviours and trends on the clear and dark webImplement observability mechanisms (we use DataDog) to detect problems in your environment(s), and run the associated business processes to resolveWork with the existing engineers on your team to foster their growth and development, and facilitate best practices, through mentoring and coachingBe highly opinionated about the engineering strategy of your team, and a key contributor to the same.Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You will be a great fit here if youHave a passionate interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchains and their usage (both from a technical and economic perspective) in the real-worldDemonstrably great coding skills in at least one language and the proven ability to engineer good solutionsHave increased operational efficiency by integrating disparate systemsEnjoy working as part of a close-knit team on highly impactful problemsPromote a positive culture of collaboration, through open and effective communication, particularly when addressing issues or raising concerns.Are able to form well reasoned, data driven or otherwise evidence based arguments, to influence key stakeholders across the business.Required Skills and ExperienceHas 5+ years commercial experienceExpert level in (Javascript|Typescript|Python)Familiar with Postgres and K8sFamiliarity with AWSHas built infrastructure with TerraformBonus pointsHas worked in an intelligence collection settingExperience with big data technologies, the management of data, and data pipelinesFamiliarity with functional programming conceptsHas run production workloads of 1000s QPSJob Benefits
