An opportunity has arisen to join our team at Ipswich in our Medicine and Community Ipswich and East Suffolk Division. We are inviting applications for a fixed term Locum Consultant Cardiologist. Applicants may have completed CCT or equivalent (Pathway Portfolio) and be on the Specialist Register although not essential for this Locum appointment.We are ESNEFT and we provide hospital and community health services to almost one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex. The key duties and responsibilities are:General responsibilities including participation in the consultant on-call rotaSpecialist clinicsOutpatient clinicsProcedures as per specialtyTeachingOther care of inpatients or outpatientsClinical and other administration as required by agreementTeaching and training of junior staff and undergraduatesParticipation in clinical governanceRequirements and job plan
The job plan is expected to consist of 10 programmed activities. The exact details of the job plan will be agreed with the successful candidate after appointment. The appointee will be expected to take part in the consultant on-call rota.The postholder will:Work with colleagues to provide a consultant-led service with the highest standards of careWork with the multi-professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelinesDevelop and maintain good working practices within wards, outpatients and AandECollaborate and promote close working links with colleagues in tertiary centres, community services and primary careOffer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary teamAbout ESNEFT and benefits
