Premises Officer

Location: Croydon (Bardsley Court, Claremont Court and Garden Court)

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, 9am – 2.30pm, 27.5 hours per week

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract for 6 months

Salary: £15.65 per hour (rising to £16.19 per hour after a successful probation of 5 months)

We are looking for a reliable, practical and tenant-focused Premises Officer to help provide clean, safe and well-maintained environments across our care schemes, Bardsley Court, Claremont Court and Garden Court.

In this varied role, you will deliver cleaning and caretaking services, support day-to-day site operations, respond to tenant queries, liaise with colleagues and contractors, and help ensure that communal areas, grounds, refuse areas and site records are maintained to a high standard.

You will also provide day-to-day supervision for the Cleaner at Garden Court, helping to maintain standards, support development and ensure relevant health and safety and operational procedures are followed.

What you'll be doing

• Provide cleaning and general caretaking services across the three sites.
• Help keep premises, equipment, furnishings, grounds, refuse areas and planted areas clean, safe and well maintained.
• Monitor and report repairs, pest control issues, risks, incidents and other matters requiring follow-up.
• Act as a helpful point of contact for tenants, contractors, colleagues and visitors.
• Support safe access to premises, including helping with gritting and clearing paths in freezing weather where required.
• Maintain stock of cleaning materials and consumables, ensuring safe storage and compliance with COSHH requirements
• Keep relevant site records, logbooks and health and safety checks up to date.

Person specification

• Experience of working in a cleaning, caretaking or similar premises-based environment.
• A caring, customer-focused approach and the ability to deal sensitively and helpfully with tenant queries.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with tenants, colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and an organised approach to managing time, priorities and resources.
• Experience of supervising staff, contractors or service providers, or a willingness to learn.
• IOSH Health and Safety and First Aid qualifications, or willingness to undertake relevant training.
