A graduate of an approved CCA/PCW program with NS provincial certification, Nova Scotia CCA Provincial Exam, or CCA Equivalency; orCCA students who have completed their second mentorshipStudents currently enrolled in LPN or RN programsPSWs, IENs (Internationally Educated Nurse), Health Care Aides or other applicable coursesIndividuals who are currently registered with the PLAR program with NSHACurrent Standard First-Aid and CPR requiredPrevious related experience preferredStrong interpersonal, communication, organizational and clinical skillsAble to work flexible hours and shifts including weekends and holidaysAble to maintain regular and consistent attendanceResponsibilities

Provide services to residents in accordance with the individual care planPerform light housekeeping duties (e.g. tidy room, clean closets, hang clothing)Assist residents with meals and between-meal refreshmentsProvide respite care to families and caregiversEngage residents and families in leisure/recreational activities on unitFacilitate resident/family participation in recreation programsProvide opportunities for residents/families to interact with the environment in which they live/visitAdditional Information
