KS3 SEMH Teacher
KS3 SEMH Teacher
Location: Outer London
Start Date: January 2027 or sooner
Salary: Main Pay Scale (Outer London) + SEN Allowance 2
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and reflective KS3 Teacher to join a growing specialist SEMH provision in Outer London.
The school is expanding its provision into Key Stage 3 and is looking for an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, many of whom may also be neurodivergent.
The school places strong emphasis on relationships, emotional safety and consistency, recognising that pupils are far more able to engage with learning when they feel safe, valued and understood. Behaviour is viewed as communication, with equal importance placed on pupils'' social-emotional development and academic progress.
The Role
As a KS3 Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting the development of the school''s new secondary provision. You will create a structured, nurturing and engaging classroom environment where pupils can develop confidence, independence and a positive relationship with education.
You will work closely with colleagues, families and other professionals to understand individual needs, adapt learning and provide clear routines, boundaries and expectations.
Progress within SEMH education is not always straightforward, but the impact you can make is significant - from helping a pupil re-engage with learning to supporting them to manage challenging situations and develop a more positive view of themselves.
The School Is Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with pupils with SEMH needs and/or neurodiversity, ideally at KS3
- Can build strong, consistent and trusting relationships with pupils and families
- Is adaptable and able to tailor their approach to individual needs
- Can maintain clear boundaries, routines and expectations
- Is resilient, reflective and able to remain calm in challenging situations
- Is passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
- Works effectively as part of a wider team
- Is committed to improving pupils'' educational, social and emotional outcomes
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who wants to take on a rewarding challenge and play an important role in the development of a growing specialist SEMH provision.
If you are passionate about SEMH education and want to work in an environment where relationships, consistency and pupil wellbeing are genuinely prioritised, we would love to hear from you.
Salary will be determined by the successful candidate''s qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client''s pay policy.
