About the clientMorgan Law are seeking an interim Financial Planning/Modelling Specialist for a Local Authority in the London area.
AccountabilitiesThe provision of high quality financial and business analysisCreating new costing models in Excel from scratch, to help the service understand how much the service costs to runRobustly modelling and appraisal of income growth initiativesStreamlining existing processesWorking with the Head of Finance to develop KPIs linked to the strategic planScrutinise, evaluate and challenge business cases proposed by managersEnsuring data is examined in a robust way and presented in an appropriate style and format using sound financial and business analysis and providing recommendations to the Head of Finance as appropriateBuild and maintain collaborative working relationships across the community in order to provide effective business and financial advice and analysis
Candidate RequirementsVery recent experience working for a Local AuthorityQualified Accountant (preferred CIMA but ACCA, ACA, CIPFA will be considered) with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experienceAdvanced knowledge of IT applications especially Excel and PowerBI such that advice and guidance can be supplied to the business users to improve the use of such applicationsSignificant experience in a role undertaking complex financial and business analysis for senior managers and making recommendations for business development and improvement in accordance with organisational objectivesSignificant experience in the analysis of complex accounts and management information and the provision of advice on business efficiencies in a complex organisationCampaign TimelineThis is an urgent post and is open until filled.
