Maintenance Engineer
Our client is one of the largest and most successful PVCu manufacturers in the British Isles, renowned for delivering high-quality products, exceptional customer service, and reliable delivery performance.
Through continuous investment in technology, transport, and manufacturing processes, they have established themselves as a leading fabricator across the UK and Ireland.
They are currently recruiting for a full-time Maintenance Engineer to join the maintenance team at the Belfast manufacturing facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and ongoing upkeep of production machinery, including saw centres, welders, and corner cleaning equipment. The role will involve fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure production quality remains at the highest standard.
Additional responsibilities will include general factory and building maintenance. The successful candidate will be required to work within a shift pattern.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.
- Assist with general factory and building maintenance tasks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance function.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records where required.
- NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Minimum of 2 years' engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment faults effectively.
- Welding and fabrication experience desirable.
- Hands-on, proactive, and results-driven approach.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attendance and timekeeping record.
- 40 hours per week.
- Flexibility is required regarding working hours, shift patterns, and overtime availability.
