Overview
Based in Walsall with opportunities for hybrid working. In this role you''ll support financial performance and strategy across our core functions including Supply Chain, Distribution, Trading, Retail, and Transformation, being a critical partner to our leaders. This role goes beyond reporting; it focuses on providing insight that influences decision-making, challenges assumptions, and identifies risks and opportunities. In a fast-moving retail environment, you''ll help shape strategy, support performance improvement, and drive commercial outcomes by improving reporting processes, assessing the effectiveness of business metrics, and translating complex data into actionable insight.We uphold three core behaviours that guide all our actions:

Act as a trusted advisor, building strong relationships with our leaders.Provide financial insight to optimise performance, manage risks, and support strategic objectives.Challenge assumptions and ensure financial rigour in key decisions.Drive improvements in reporting and forecasting, shifting focus from data gathering to actionable insight.Partner with teams to assess and refine performance metrics.Translate complex financial data into clear insight for non-financial stakeholders.Qualifications
A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and strong post-qualification experience.Proven success in Finance Business Partnering or Commercial Finance, ideally in retail or FMCG.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data into strategic insight.Confident communication and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge constructively.Agility to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment with shifting priorities.Commercial curiosity and a passion for making a measurable impact on business performance.Contribute to transformation initiatives and change programmes from a finance perspective.About Poundland and Dealz: Since our humble beginnings in 1990, Poundland has grown to over 700 stores with 15,000 colleagues across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
