Head of Environmental Compliance – Liverpool | Salford | Leeds | NewcastleCirca £90,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent BenefitsAre you an experienced environmental professional with strong expertise in permitting, compliance, and regulatory engagement, ready to lead compliance for a global recycling specialist?If the answer is yes, this is the Head of Environmental Compliance opportunity currently being recruited for. The client is a global leader in the waste and recycling sector, operating across hundreds of sites worldwide.Responsibilities

Managing the company''s portfolio of environmental permits, exemptions, consents, and licences.Overseeing environmental management plans and statutory submissions to regulators, including the Environment Agency, SEPA and local authorities.Acting as the primary liaison with regulators, maintaining proactive relationships and ensuring robust compliance across operations.Driving continuous improvement in environmental governance and supporting regional SHEQ activities.Qualifications

Significant experience within the waste sector, with strong knowledge of environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.A degree in an environmental discipline (such as Environmental Science or Chemistry), ideally with professional qualifications (e.g. MCIWM, IEMA).Experience working with regulators, particularly the Environment Agency, and industry associations.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.Seniority level
