Procurement & Purchasing Coordinator

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm
We’re looking for an experienced Procurement & Purchasing Coordinator to join a friendly, well-established business in High Wycombe.
This is a procurement-focused position working as part of the wider Supply Chain team. You’ll be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, raising purchase orders, managing supplier relationships and helping to ensure goods are delivered on time and within budget.
The successful candidate must have at least three years’ experience within procurement or purchasing and be confident negotiating with suppliers, analysing purchasing data and working with stock levels, lead times and costs.
Key Responsibilities of the Procurement & Purchasing Coordinator:
- Sourcing and purchasing materials, goods and services from UK and overseas suppliers
- Negotiating supplier pricing, terms and delivery arrangements
- Raising and processing accurate purchase orders
- Monitoring stock levels, lead times, costs and storage requirements
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on time
- Resolving supplier, quality and delivery queries promptly
- Monitoring supplier performance and escalating any concerns
- Analysing procurement and purchasing data to identify trends
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and areas for improvement
- Producing reports and presentations using procurement data
- Supporting the introduction and ongoing use of an MRP system
- Suggesting improvements to purchasing and procurement processes
- Attending meetings and providing updates on procurement activity
Key Requirements of the Procurement & Purchasing Coordinator:
- A minimum of three years’ experience within procurement or purchasing
- Previous experience sourcing materials, products or services
- Experience raising and managing purchase orders
- Confident negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers
- Experience monitoring stock levels, supplier deliveries and lead times
- Strong supplier relationship-management skills
- Good numerical ability with strong attention to detail
- Able to analyse and interpret purchasing and procurement data
- A high level of Excel ability
- Experience using SAGE, MRP or an equivalent purchasing system
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Responsible, reliable and driven to achieve results
- A relevant degree, qualification or formal procurement training would be highly advantageous
