About NHS England and OpportunityThis is an exciting time to join NHS England as a Solution Architect. With the publication of the NHS 10-Year Plan, digital transformation is at the heart of reshaping services. The Solution Architecture function delivers architecture design, technical consultancy and ownership of large-scale NHS programmes. You’ll typically support a Senior Architect on national systems or domains such as the NHS App.

Opportunities across key areas

Applications

– Work on the next generation of NHS England applications, including the NHS App, NHS.uk, Urgent and Emergency Care, and General Practice. Help deliver solutions that benefit both end users and the public.

Responsibilities

Taking ownership of specific architecture components, ensuring alignment with standards and enterprise frameworks.

Collaborating within agile teams alongside service designers, user researchers, engineers, and clinicians.

Acting as a technical contact point for stakeholders and suppliers.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

If you are successful at interview, we will run an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) in the Electronic Staff Record system (ESR). This transfer collects information from a previous or current NHS employer to support onboarding, including statutory and mandatory competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement. You will have the opportunity to inform us if you do not consent during the process.

The post of Solution Architect has been awarded a Recruitment and Retention Premia (RRP) to recognise current labour market conditions. The role attracts an additional monthly RRP payment equal to 15% per annum. RRP is non-contractual and subject to review.

Please note that the reason for the fixed term of this contract is - Short-term vacancy.

Earlier this year the Government announced that NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care will increasingly merge functions to create a smaller, more strategic centre.
