Reed are currently working with a leading business process and outsourcing company who have a track record of providing services to both the private and public sectors in the UK. We are currently supporting them with the search to hire a new Business Rates Recovery Officer, who will be working for a South East London based local authority, working out of their Bromley office. This is a permanent part time role working 26 hours a week reporting into the Recovery Operations Manager. You will have experience of working in the revenues and debt recovery field and with knowledge of Business Rates. Your duties and responsibilities will include : Process documents for Business Rates accounts in line with agreed processes Proactive account housekeeping and debt chasing Undertaking tracing functions including company search for account payers Maintain and update Business Rates debtor records to allow accurate billing and collection of outstanding debts Process recovery administrative documents Assisting summons surgeries and attending NNDR recovery appointment meetings Monitor and review cases and progress outstanding debts through the recovery cycle Attend monthly Summons court hearing Referring cases to Enforcement Agents and processing returned cases for next recovery action Identifying and preparing cases for charging orders and bankruptcies.
