Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civils and Rail - Contract) Location: Manchester, UK Contract Type: Contract Duration: 6 months minimum with potential for Extension Day Rate: Competitive / Negotiable Overview: We are currently recruiting for a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client on a contract basis in Manchester. The client is a well-established contractor operating across civils and rail infrastructure projects. This role will involve supporting the commercial delivery of key schemes including rail upgrades, bridges and structures. Key Responsibilities: - Take full commercial responsibility for assigned civils and rail projects - Manage subcontract procurement, tendering, and contract administration - Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts, CVRs, and cash flow - Assess subcontractor applications, variations, and final accounts - Ensure cost control, risk management, and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle - Liaise with operational and client teams to ensure timely reporting and commercial support - Attend site meetings and contribute to project planning and commercial strategy - Produce monthly cost/value reconciliation and commercial reports for senior leadership Requirements: - Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering and/or rail infrastructure projects - Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline - Strong understanding of cost management, tendering, procurement, and ..... full job details .....
