OverviewHead of Procurement / Senior Procurement Manager - Logistics, Transport and Warehousing (Indirect) Manufacturing — Peterborough. Salary: £80,000 to £85,000 + Bonus.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet business objectives.

Oversee supplier selection, negotiation, and relationship management.

Ensure compliance with procurement policies and industry regulations.

Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement activities with operational goals.

Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to maintain quality standards.

Manage procurement budgets and report on expenditure.

Profile / Qualifications

Experience as Head of Procurement or Senior Procurement Manager (Indirect Procurement), with management of logistics, transport and warehousing within a manufacturing/logistics environment.

Proven procurement experience within the industrial, packaging or manufacturing sector.

Experience in category management across multiple categories including packaging, repair materials, consumables, services, transport/logistics and warehousing.

Strong knowledge of procurement practices and supply chain management.

Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.

Ability to develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies.

Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Experience managing and mentoring teams to achieve objectives.

Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.

Job OfferCompetitive salary in the range up to £85,000 + bonus + benefits.

Location and TravelThis role requires on-site presence in Peterborough with some travel to the EMEA region. You will be dealing with staff and supplies in the factory and must be able to manage stakeholders at all levels, negotiate contracts, and handle tenders. End-to-end procurement and accountability for the UK supply chain, with some involvement in the EMEA region.
