Workplace: Home working with frequent travel across Essex.Salary: £24,000 per annum, working 4 days per week (full-time equivalent is £30,000).Working pattern: 4 days / 28 hours per week.Contract type: 14 months, fixed term contract.Closing date: End of day 3 October 2025.Panel interviews: Week commencing 6 October 2025.Preferred start date: mid-November 2025.Overview

Join a meaningful UK-wide initiative powered by AbilityNet in partnership with BT Group, aimed at reducing digital exclusion. As a Digital Skills Trainer, you’ll deliver a mix of group and one-to-one sessions - both in person and online - helping older people (aged 55+) and disabled adults build the confidence and digital skills needed to thrive in today’s connected world. These practical, person-centred sessions empower learners to navigate everyday technology with independence and confidence.Responsibilities

Deliver group and one-to-one training sessions or presentations to diverse audiences.Represent the organisation externally and adapt outreach strategies to suit different contexts.Utilise strong IT skills across a wide range of technologies including Microsoft Office 365, Apple and Android devices, and assistive technology – hardware and software.Engage and motivate learners with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Maintain strong organisational and administrative abilities.Work with charities, older people and/or disabled people.Travel regularly across the specified region, with occasional travel outside the area as required.Requirements

Training and facilitation experience: proven experience in delivering group and one-to-one training or presenting to diverse audiences.Outreach experience: experience representing organisations externally and adapting outreach strategies to suit different contexts.IT proficiency: strong digital literacy and IT skills, with confidence in using a wide range of technologies, including Microsoft Office 365, Apple and Android devices, and associated technologies; excellent knowledge of assistive technology – hardware and software.Communication skills: excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.Organisation skills: strong organisational and administrative abilities.Experience of target audience: experience of working with charities, older people and/or disabled people.Travel flexibility: willing to travel regularly across the specified region, with occasional travel outside the area as required.
