TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream primary school in Derby supporting a group of children with special educational needs. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work alongside other SEN Teaching Assistants to provide consistent and engaging support within the school environment.

The school is looking to take on a SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from ASAP until July 2027. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will primarily support a Year 2 child with ASD and learning difficulties while also working with a small group of SEN children alongside the wider support team.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• A minimum of 6 months’ SEN experience within a primary school setting
• Experience supporting children with ASD and learning difficulties
• Experience working with children at Key Stage 1 / KS1 level
• The ability to work effectively alongside other SEN Teaching Assistants and school staff
• A patient, caring and supportive approach
• A ‘can-do’ attitude with the willingness to get stuck in
