Behaviour support Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a school in Blackburn. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children manage their behaviour and reach their full potential.The RoleYou will be supporting pupils who may struggle with challenging behaviour and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, working both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Your role will be to help pupils stay engaged, develop coping strategies, and access their learning in a positive way.Key DutiesSupport students with behavioural and SEMH needs in and out of the classroomUse effective strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviourWork closely with teaching staff to maintain a calm and structured environmentBuild positive relationships that support pupil developmentTrack and share progress with staff membersWhat We''re Looking ForEssential: Experience working with childrenExperience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour and/or SEMHA relevant qualification (e.g. TA, childcare, youth work, psychology) is desirableCalm, patient, and adaptable approachStrong teamwork and communication skillsWhat''s on OfferSupportive school settingFlexible hours (full-time or part-time)Opportunities to gain further experience and trainingA rewarding role making a genuine differenceIf you have the experience and passion to support young people with additional needs, we encourage you to apply.
