HGV Technician Supervisor - Late Shift 

Location: Kidderminster
Salary: Up to £54,000 basic
OTE: Up to £57,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 12:30pm - 10:00pm

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Technician Supervisor / Workshop Supervisor to lead a busy commercial vehicle workshop team on the late shift in Kidderminster.
 
This is a hands-on position combining HGV and LCV vehicle maintenance and repair with day-to-day workshop leadership. You''ll work closely with the Workshop Controller to keep jobs moving, maintain high technical standards and make sure technicians have the support and direction they need throughout the shift.
 
The Role
As Late Shift Supervisor, you''ll be the key point of contact for technicians during the shift, helping coordinate workload while remaining technically involved in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics and repairs.
 
You''ll be joining a well-established commercial vehicle business that invests heavily in technical training, career development and modern workshop standards.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support HGV and LCV Technicians throughout the late shift
• Coordinate workshop workload alongside the Workshop Controller
• Ensure the right technicians are allocated to the right jobs at the right time
• Carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs
• Identify worn, defective and faulty components in accordance with DVSA standards
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and compliance
• Ensure job cards and supporting documentation are completed accurately
• Use workshop management systems such as Keyloop/Kerridge
• Communicate effectively with technicians, workshop management and other departments
• Help keep the team motivated, productive and engaged
• Work to agreed repair times while maintaining quality standards
• Carry out duties including wheel alignment and tyre fitting where required
• Promote a positive, safe and professional workshop environment

What We''re Looking For
You''ll ideally be an experienced HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, HGV Supervisor, Workshop Supervisor or Senior Technician who is ready to take responsibility for leading a shift.
 
You will need:

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, IMI Level 3 or equivalent qualification in commercial vehicle maintenance and repair
• Strong HGV and/or LCV technical experience
• Previous experience supervising, mentoring or supporting technicians
• Good understanding of DVSA maintenance and inspection standards
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
• Excellent communication and organisational ability
• Good attention to detail when completing job cards and technical documentation
• A positive and practical approach to workshop leadership
• Ability to remain organised within a busy commercial vehicle environment
• Experience with Keyloop/Kerridge would be advantageous
