Part Time - IRO / CP Chair Role - Northamptonshire
Northamptonshire Children''s Trust is currently seeking an Independent Reviewing & Conference Officer (Child Protection Conference Chair) to join their team on a part-time basis.
Rate: -40 per hour
Hours: 0.6 FTE (22.5 hours per week)
Location: Northampton & Kettering (for face-to-face meetings)
Working Pattern: Hybrid - most Review Conferences are held virtually, with approximately 2 days per week required for face-to-face Initial Child Protection Conferences
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a key role in ensuring high-quality child protection planning and safeguarding outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent oversight and quality assurance of child protection planning
- Chair Child Protection Conferences, ensuring the child''s voice and best interests remain central
- Monitor performance of child protection practice across the Trust
- Identify areas of poor practice and escalate concerns appropriately
- Report findings and recommend improvements to senior management
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders to implement remedial actions and drive service improvement
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years'' experience as a social worker within children''s services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
