Salary: MPS / UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic SEN Primary Teacher to join a supportive and well-resourced specialist school in the Ealing area. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a nurturing environment that places pupil wellbeing, inclusion, and individual achievement at the heart of everything it does.

About the Role

The successful candidate will teach primary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, delivering engaging and personalised learning experiences that enable every child to reach their full potential.

The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs)
  • Complex Learning Needs

You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, Therapists, SENCOs, and the wider multidisciplinary team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Support pupils'' academic, social, emotional, and communication development
  • Develop and implement personalised learning strategies and interventions
  • Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress against EHCP outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with families, therapists, and external agencies
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching within a primary or SEN setting
  • Strong understanding of SEND and inclusive teaching practices
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs
  • Passion for supporting children with additional needs

Desirable

  • Experience working with ASD, SLD, MLD, or complex needs
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and SEND legislation
  • Experience using communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or visual supports
  • Team Teach or positive behaviour support training
