This Learning Support Assistant role combines one-to-one support with small-group intervention work, supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, social communication difficulties and moderate learning difficulties.



The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver tailored one-to-one support for pupils with EHCPs
  • Lead small-group interventions in phonics, reading, writing and maths
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and outside professionals
  • Celebrate progress and help pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence


What We''re Looking For

The successful Learning Support Assistant will:

  • Have previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or SEND Support Assistant
  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEND within a primary school
  • Be calm, patient and able to build excellent relationships with children
  • Have strong communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Be passionate about inclusive education and making a lasting impact

Graduates considering a career in teaching or educational psychology, as well as experienced Learning Support Assistants, are encouraged to apply if they have relevant school-based experience.
