We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer based in Bedford to join one of our clients on a full-time permanent basis. 

Summary of the Design Engineer

Salary: £45,000 per annum
Location:  Bedford
Type of Contract: Permanent, Full time
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:15am - 4:45pm, Fridays 8:15am - 1:45pm

Our client is a global engineering company that has seen continuous growth for several decades.

Responsibilities of the Design Engineer

• Complete machine design of rotating equipment and components.
• Review sketches, descriptions and specifications.
• Create 3D and 2D models and assemblies.
• Bills of materials.
• Conduct site visits where necessary.
• Provide technical assistance to ensure design requirements are met.

Requirements for a successful Design Engineer

• Qualified HNC/HND in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.
• Experience in mechanical rotating equipment & design.
• Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with Solidworks and 2D/3D CAD modelling and draughting. 
• Bills of materials experience. 
• Experience with engineering calculations.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
