We’re looking for a Primary Site Data Center Engineer to manage our London colocations and be responsible for project work, general maintenance and auditing at these sites. This role offers ownership of the physical parts of our trading infrastructure across multiple data centers and thousands of servers, with a focus on simplicity and operational excellence.What You’ll Do

As a Primary Site Data Center Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our global data center environments.You will combine your knowledge in IT Infrastructure to solve business issues and independently work on improvement opportunities.You will work on projects of all sizes, either as a resource or leading engineer, delivering from conception to completion in a hands-on, high impact role.Install and cabling switches, servers and appliances in data centers and co-locations.Coordinate server and network equipment installation with smart hands in remote locations.Manage power and space allocation, including capacity planning and monitoring.Maintain clean and consistent cable management practices.Track and manage spare parts and cable inventory.Perform break-fix repairs, replacing components like hard drives, memory and transceivers.Plan and execute data center build-outs, relocations and new equipment installations.Pack, ship, and manage logistics of equipment for remote co-locations.Maintain comprehensive data center documentation and support the standardization of procedures.Contribute to the build and maintenance of core office IT infrastructure, including the trading floor.Troubleshoot and test cabling (fiber and copper) using cable testers.Support system builds, configuration, and troubleshooting as needed.What You’ll Get

Technical Skills

Experience working in modern, large-scale data centers.Ability to identify basic parts of network equipment (SFPs, line cards, chassis) and servers (memory, network cards, hard drives).Knowledge of structured cabling systems (Cat 5, Cat 6, multi-mode, and single-mode fiber).Familiarity with power and communications cabling standards.Experience with cable testers to troubleshoot both fiber and copper cabling issues.An understanding of change control processes.Basic server operating system installation and configuration skills.Strong documentation skills and a meticulous approach to tracking details.Non-Technical Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Creative problem-solving mindset, bringing new ideas to improve data center operations.Experience leading or coordinating resources in infrastructure projects, from conception to completion.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, 30 kg, and to lift heavy objects.Willingness to work flexible hours outside of regular business hours, including weekends, to execute physical infrastructure changes.Willingness to travel to support regional data center operations.Who We Are
