Junior CAD Technician
The client is an established and renowned civil and structural engineering company.
They are seeking to add a Junior CAD Technician to their team and Pertemps are working in partnership with them to support on this vacancy.
Working on residential housing developments, the postholder will support the production of technical drawings and design documentation for a wide range of projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to begin a rewarding career within the engineering industry, working alongside experienced engineers and technicians in a supportive and collaborative environment.
No previous CAD experience is required as full on-the-job training will be provided. However, any working experience of design packages or relevant qualifications will be advantageous.
There will potentially be the opportunity to undertake a recognised apprenticeship programme through day release, with progression to college and, where appropriate, university qualifications, providing a clear pathway to a long-term career in Civil and Structural Engineering.
The role is day based Monday to Friday with flexible start and finish times (40 hour week)
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D models using industry-standard CAD software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
- Create technical drawings, schematics, system layouts, and detailed design documentation to support project delivery.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, and project teams to develop, coordinate, and refine design solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive construction documentation, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and technical specifications.
- Ensure all drawings and models comply with project requirements, client specifications, relevant standards, and applicable regulations.
- Review and revise drawings throughout the design process, incorporating feedback and maintaining document accuracy.
- Support the resolution of design and coordination issues by applying effective CAD modelling techniques and practical solutions.
- Maintain organised project files and ensure document control procedures are followed.
No previous CAD or engineering experience is required. The company are looking for enthusiastic individuals with the right attitude and a genuine interest in developing a career within Civil and Structural Engineering.

- Basic IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications. Previous experience with CAD software is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above, are desirable. A Levels, T Levels, BTECs, or equivalent qualifications in Engineering, Design, Construction, or related subjects would be advantageous but are not essential.
The company is based in Henley in Arden so is commutable from Stratford upon Avon, Redditch, Alcester, Leamington Spa, Kenilworth
