MS701 - Production Operative

Location: Shaw, Oldham

Salary: £26,364 - £30,420 per annum

Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Production Operative on behalf of one of our clients.

The successful candidate is responsible for assembling, finishing and preparing a wide range of signage products to the required quality standards. The role involves working with various materials, components and production equipment while ensuring jobs are completed safely, accurately and on time.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assemble a variety of internal and external signage products from drawings and work instructions.
• Build fabricated signs including illuminated and non-illuminated products.
• Fit vinyl graphics, acrylic faces, aluminium components and trims.
• Install LED lighting systems and carry out basic wiring.
• Prepare and finish products ready for quality inspection and dispatch.
• Operate hand tools, power tools and production equipment safely.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company quality standards.
• Report any defects, shortages or production issues to the Production Supervisor.
• Package completed signs to prevent damage during transport.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow production schedules to ensure customer deadlines are achieved.
• Assist other production departments when required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production team.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Good practical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read production paperwork and assembly drawings.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Quality-focused with excellent attention to detail.
