Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We are recruiting on behalf of a tier one social housing refurbishment contractor who are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Hatfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a respected contractor delivering essential refurbishment and maintenance works across void social housing properties on behalf of housing associations and local authorities.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial team on refurbishment and maintenance projects. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation and management of project budgets, valuations, and cost reports

• Supporting the measurement and valuation of works, both on-site and from drawings

• Liaising with subcontractors, clients, and internal project teams

• Assisting in the management of variations and ensuring accurate cost control

• Ensuring compliance with company procedures and relevant contractual frameworks

• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the social housing or refurbishment sector is highly desirable

• Knowledge of the NHF Schedule of Rates (SOR) would be a distinct advantage

• A construction-related degree or NVQ qualification is preferred, though not essential for the right candidate

• Strong numerical, organisational, and communication skills

• Salary up to £40,000 (depending on experience)
