As the dedicated Secondary Recruitment Consultant for Hays Education in Nottingham, I''m working with a local secondary school seeking a committed Behaviour Support Worker to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis after half-term.This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to students who need additional guidance, structure and encouragement to succeed in school. About the Role In this long-term position, you will: Support students with social, emotional and mental health needs and behavioural difficulties Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and SEN departmentsHelp maintain a positive and safe learning environmentProvide 1:1 and small-group supportImplement behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniquesBuild strong, trusting relationships with students The school offers a supportive team, clear behaviour policies and ongoing guidance to help you thrive in the role. What We''re Looking For Experience working with young people with SEMH needs (school, youth work, care, sports coaching etc.)Strong behaviour management and communication skillsA calm, patient and proactive approachAbility to build rapport and motivate studentsResilience and confidence when managing challenging situations (Experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.)
