Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly supportive specialist school in Enfield to recruit dedicated Learning Support Assistants for September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
The school provides a nurturing and highly personalised learning environment for pupils who require specialist support to overcome barriers to learning and achieve success both academically and socially. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, structured and positive environment where every child is encouraged to develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
- Assisting with the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and social development
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging engagement in learning
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Supporting communication, independence and life skills
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, pastoral teams and families
We Are Looking For Candidates Who:
- Have experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work or support settings
- Demonstrate patience, empathy and emotional resilience
- Have an interest in SEMH, Autism and Special Educational Needs
- Are able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Can build strong relationships and establish clear boundaries
- Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience In Any Of The Following Areas Would Be Highly Beneficial:
- Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- SEMH schools or Alternative Provision
- Autism support
- Youth work
- Behaviour mentoring
- Children''s residential care
- Mental health support services
- Sports coaching or community outreach programmes
