Freelance / Contract ONLYEdison Smart are seeking senior-level Commissioning Engineers with proven expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems. You’ll lead commissioning on grid-scale projects across the UK, ensuring systems are delivered, tested, and handed over on time and to specification.What do we need from you?Lead commissioning of utility-scale BESS, including LV/MV equipment, inverters, transformers, and switchgear.Execute FAT/SAT, protection testing, and functional validation of systems.Troubleshoot BMS, SCADA, PLCs, and communication networks.Ensure compliance with BS 7671, G99/G100, and site safety protocols.Produce commissioning documentation and client handover packages.Requirements:5+ years’ commissioning experience on BESS or comparable large-scale power systems.Strong knowledge of HV/LV electrical distribution, grid codes, and protection schemes.Experience with SCADA/BMS integration and industrial communication protocols.HV Authorised Person and 18th Edition highly desirable.Flexibility to travel nationwide, CSCS/ECS required.What’s in it for you?Continuous pipeline of LONG TERM projects across the UK.Work with leading developers, EPCs, and OEMs on cutting-edge energy storage projects.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeContractJob functionServices for Renewable Energy
