Location: Huddersfield (or regular travel to)Pay Rate: £74 per hourContract Length: 9 monthsHours: 36 per weekAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager on a fixed-term basis to lead a critical transformation programme at our Huddersfield site. This senior position will oversee the realignment of production, costs, and resources across three key workstreams:Products and AssetsService and InfrastructureOrganisational Structure (including headcount, roles, and skills)The successful candidate will establish and maintain a robust PMO function to drive this change initiative, working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish and maintain comprehensive PMO governance across the transformation programmeDevelop and manage detailed project plans, financial forecasts, and resource allocationsLead risk and issue management processes, implementing effective mitigation strategiesSupport preparation for consultation meetings with trade unions regarding workforce changes,Provide regular, clear reporting to senior stakeholders on programme progressCoordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and delivery against objectivesIdentify and resolve complex problems that may impede programme successEnsure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements during the transformationExperience and SkillsProven track record establishing and managing PMO functions for significant transformation programmesDemonstrated experience in workforce restructuring projects, including significant headcount reductions and resetSupporting the preparation for formal consultation processes with trade unions and employee representativesExperience developing and implementing project governance frameworks to ensure delivery against timescales and budgetsStrong financial forecasting and budget management capabilitiesExceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levelsStrong leadership qualities with the ability to navigate challenging situationsDeep understanding of project management methodologies and best practicesPersonal AttributesResilient under pressure with the ability to manage sensitive situations professionallyStrategic thinker who can balance immediate needs with long-term objectivesCollaborative approach while maintaining clear direction and accountabilityAnalytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilitiesAdaptable to changing circumstances while maintaining focus on core deliverablesThis is a challenging but rewarding opportunity to facilitate a significant transformation programme with lasting impact.
