Senior Engineering Leadership Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Engineering-or Engineering Director to lead a large multidisciplinary engineering team.

This role will drive engineering strategy, organisational capability, innovation, engineering excellence, and AI enabled engineering transformation while ensuring the delivery of compliant, scalable, high quality product solutions.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished engineering leader with experience managing large engineering functions and a passion for developing people, driving performance, and shaping future technology strategy.

The Role

Reporting into global R&D leadership structure, the Head of Engineering will provide strategic and operational leadership across a broad engineering organisation covering multiple disciplines. You will play a critical role in aligning engineering activities with product strategy, business objectives, and long term growth plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the engineering strategy aligned to business and technology objectives
• Drive engineering excellence across the organisation
• Lead engineering transformation initiatives
• Support strategic business growth and innovation objectives
• Ensure technical quality throughout the product lifecycle
• Ensure product safety, cybersecurity, quality, and regulatory compliance
• Support delivery of complex hardware and software based products
• Define and implement AI adoption strategies for engineering functions
• Drive adoption of digital engineering and automation methodologies
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Service functions
• Build strong relationships across global engineering and business teams
• Develop partnerships with universities, research institutions, and technology providers
• Lead collaboration across multiple stakeholder groups and geographical locations

Experience

• Bachelor''s Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.-Master''s Degree preferred.
• MBA or equivalent business qualification advantageous.
• Minimum of 10 years'' engineering leadership experience (at Head of Department / Director level).
• Size and scope of leadership experience is key, the Head of Engineering must bring experience of managing teams great that 50 staff to meet the role demands.
• Proven experience leading Mechanical, Electronics, and Software Engineering functions, with a strong technical understading-of systems engineering and complex hardware/software products.
• Executive level communication capability
• Experience introducing AI supported engineering practices
